Service Description
Whether it’s date night or girls’ night, this Valentine’s & Galentine’s mahj mingle designed to be fun, social, and easy. Hearts, Tiles & Cocktails is a relaxed, social mahj night designed for couples, friends, and players who want a fun night. Come with your significant other, your friend, or on your own and choose how you would like to participate. This event offers two ways to join: -Intro to Mahj Pair Lesson This option is perfect for brand new players who want to learn together. Bring a partner or a friend and learn the basics of American Mahjong in a supportive, approachable setting. Space is Limited. This option includes a full two hours lesson to introduce you to American Mahjong -Social Play This option is for players who already know how to play and are comfortable playing independently. This is not a lesson or guided play. Clarifying questions are welcome, but there will be no hand by hand coaching or strategy instruction. Price is $50 per pair or $30 per individual player. The vibe is casual and social. Support our venue partner by ordering cocktails, appetizers, or dinner and stay as long as you would like. True Food Kitchen offers 10% off for our players. The evening will also include a Valentine’s themed raffle. Everyone who attends is eligible - Mahj winers receive extra entries.
Cancellation Policy
At Mahj + Miami, every event is thoughtfully designed — from curating tables to styling every seat for a fun, fair, and fabulous experience. To keep the vibe smooth and respectful for all players, we kindly ask that you please review the following: 🔸 Cancellations We do not offer refunds for cancellations. If you cancel 48+ hours before an event, we’re happy to allow you to reschedule your spot at a future lesson/event of equal value (pending availability). This credit must be used within 60 days of the original event date, otherwise it will expire. ***Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable and not eligible for credit.*** Please understand that last-minute cancellations affect seating arrangements and disrupt the flow of the event for everyone. 🔸 Table Seating We do our best to accommodate seating preferences and aim to place all players at traditional 4-top tables. However: Due to unforeseen circumstances such as no-shows or last-minute cancellations, we may need to adjust the seating chart to ensure all players can be included. Depending on registration, some games may be played with less than 4 players. Occasionally, you may be seated at a larger communal table alongside another group of 4. While we strive to seat players of similar skill levels together, we can’t always guarantee perfect pairings — thank you for your flexibility and spirit of play! 🔸 Running Late Please arrive on time. If you're more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to sit out that round to avoid interrupting gameplay. Your punctuality helps keep the table experience smooth for everyone. 🔸 Group Play Guidelines: Individual house rules do not apply. We follow the official guidelines of the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) to ensure consistency and fairness for all players. Please note that we do not use blank tiles or variations outside of NMJL rules. 🔸 End-of-Event Policy : We’ll provide a 15-minute notice before the event ends to allow for wrap-up. While you're welcome to stay and mingle, we kindly begin collecting and packing up all Mahj + Miami materials at that time - including tiles, racks, and mats. If you'd like to continue playing after the event, you’re welcome to bring your own tiles.
