Service Description
Join Double East for our next elevated mahjong night mixer pairing social play with a curated menu at Nino Gordo in Wynwood. The evening includes: full mahj set up (just bring your NMJL card, if you have one), social play and door prizes- receive an entry ticket for attending and for each mahj hand you win. Bling your card and enjoy a fun night with other mahj lovers. You'll also receive a welcome Cocktail + Chef’s Selection of Bites served hors d’oeuvres-style, featuring a mix of fan favorites and seasonal offerings from a genre-defying Asian grill with Argentine soul. This event will begin with a 6:30-7pm mix and mingle in the Gold Room and then mahjong social play from 7pm-9pm. All participants should know how to play American Mahjong. A Mahj Hub Event Host will be there to offer rule clarifications and verify mahjong wins but no lesson or guided play is included. You may sign up as an individual or up to a table of 4. You may request to sit with friends, and we do our best to accommodate requests, but only tables who register with the full 4 players will be guaranteed to sit together. Depending on the number of registered players and potential no-shows, we cannot guarantee 4 players to a table unless you register that way. We are able to help customize the game to whatever number you are seated with. Double East, formerly Mahj + Miami, is an inclusive, friendly space, welcoming all players looking to connect over mahjong. This event requires a minimum of 16 people. If the minimum amount is not reached April 20, the event will be cancelled and you will be refunded. This is an exclusive event and space is very limited so grab your seats fast!

Cancellation Policy
At Mahj + Miami, every event is thoughtfully designed — from curating tables to styling every seat for a fun, fair, and fabulous experience. To keep the vibe smooth and respectful for all players, we kindly ask that you please review the following: 🔸 Cancellations We do not offer refunds for cancellations. If you cancel 48+ hours before an event, we’re happy to allow you to reschedule your spot at a future lesson/event of equal value (pending availability). This credit must be used within 60 days of the original event date, otherwise it will expire. ***Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable and not eligible for credit.*** Please understand that last-minute cancellations affect seating arrangements and disrupt the flow of the event for everyone. 🔸 Table Seating We do our best to accommodate seating preferences and aim to place all players at traditional 4-top tables. However: Due to unforeseen circumstances such as no-shows or last-minute cancellations, we may need to adjust the seating chart to ensure all players can be included. Depending on registration, some games may be played with less than 4 players. Occasionally, you may be seated at a larger communal table alongside another group of 4. While we strive to seat players of similar skill levels together, we can’t always guarantee perfect pairings — thank you for your flexibility and spirit of play! 🔸 Running Late Please arrive on time. If you're more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to sit out that round to avoid interrupting gameplay. Your punctuality helps keep the table experience smooth for everyone. 🔸 Group Play Guidelines: Individual house rules do not apply. We follow the official guidelines of the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) to ensure consistency and fairness for all players. Please note that we do not use blank tiles or variations outside of NMJL rules. 🔸 End-of-Event Policy : We’ll provide a 15-minute notice before the event ends to allow for wrap-up. While you're welcome to stay and mingle, we kindly begin collecting and packing up all Mahj + Miami materials at that time - including tiles, racks, and mats. If you'd like to continue playing after the event, you’re welcome to bring your own tiles.
